Lashika Hester serves as the Special Assistant to the CEO and President of myFutureNC. Previously, Lashika was an educator for the public schools of North Carolina for over nine years. Throughout her career, she served as the grade-level chair, a mentor teacher, and her school’s Teacher of the Year. Lashika was the first in her family to attend college as an education major. Lashika graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Reading K-12 Certification as a North Carolina Teaching Fellow. She lives in Raleigh and has two dogs, Sunshine and Onyx.
